Letter from Corpus Christi City Manager Margie Rose regarding local water supply
March 24, 2017
Corpus Christi City Manager Margie Rose recently sent the letter below to the Gulf Coast Growth Ventures project team confirming there will be sufficient water supply to meet the needs of our proposed plastics plant in Gregory-Portland. Our team anticipates the plant will need 20 million gallons of water per day if we select this location to build (20 million gallons per day equals approximately 20,000 acre feet per year). Start-up of the newly commissioned Mary Rhodes Phase II pipeline is contributing to increased water reserves. This further alleviates regional water supply concerns for Coastal Bend communities for several decades to come.
