Local Business Initiative
As part of Gulf Coast Growth Ventures' Good Neighbor Program, the Local Business Initiative gives businesses in the Coastal Bend an opportunity to get “pre-screened” to work with the proposed Gulf Coast Growth Ventures project. Businesses that successfully complete the pre-screening process will receive priority consideration when the project's prime contractors - also referred to as Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors - pre-qualify contractors, vendors and service providers for competitive bid lists.
Businesses in San Patricio County and adjacent counties are eligible to apply.
The deadline for the initial list was June 30, 2017. However, the GCGV project is still accepting applications. Interested businesses are welcome and encouraged to submit their information for consideration for future updates to the list.
GCGV has hired Veriforce, an expert in contractor screening, to facilitate the application process for on-site and construction work. Businesses applying to conduct construction work on-site must submit a pre-screening application through Veriforce using the link under "On-site and construction work." If your business already has a profile with Veriforce, call Veriforce at 1-800-426-1604 and ask that your company's information be added to the Gulf Coast Growth Ventures program.
GCGV will cover Veriforce application fees incurred by eligible San Patricio and Nueces County applicants. Businesses in counties adjacent to San Patricio County are also encouraged to apply, but are responsible for paying application fees.
Businesses interested in providing off-site or administrative services or supplies must apply through GCGV using the link below under "Off-site and administrative services." There is no fee for these applicants.
For assistance with the application process, contact Veriforce at 1-800-426-1604 or firstname.lastname@example.org. For local assistance, you can also contact the Small Business Development Center at Del Mar College at 361-698-2187.
Placement on the pre-screened list does not guarantee work for the project. Businesses on the list will receive priority consideration for work on the project, but must complete the qualification process and meet all Gulf Coast Growth Ventures project requirements in order to compete for selection.
